Santa Cruz del Islote

Up to 1000 people live on the Colombian island of Santa Cruz del Islote, which is barely larger than the size of two football fields. Even though they experience a shortage of electricity and water, the locals there seem to be happier than in the rest of the country. The photographer Charlie Cordero spokes to us about the inhabitants’ mentality, the difficulties he at first had to be able to document them, and about why it is worth paying a visit to Santa Cruz del Islote.
